ENGLISH NINTH


   AIMS

 Improve communicative abilities in English to permit establish daily contexts of communication between students and teachers.

Practice English using basic grammar structures, topics, words and vocabulary proposed.

 

                            PERFORMANCE INDICATORS               

Identify some mechanisms of effective communication to permit students can interact in different context in English.

Generate spaces of recreation and joy to enhance students to learn English

 

Develop interactive activities to help students to improve their speaking and listening in English.

 

Interpret and understand different kind of texts to permit them a better performance in the reading comprehension.

  

                                               ACTIVITIES TO DEVELOP 

1.  To write an introductory text of welcome to this New Year.

2.  To make a short video or audio talking about your expectations to personal and educative level.

3.  Through a poster show what are your duties as student and your duties as a citizen in society.

4.  Draw a map where you identify the main places with problems of unemployment in our country, write a short message of support to these people.

Martin had a terrible day yesterday. It was the day of his vacation to Spain but it was a nightmare.

 He left the house at 10 o'clock in the morning and caught a taxi to the airport.

Martin went to the check-in with his luggage. When the man who worked for the airline asked for his passport,

Martin became very upset. Where was his passport?

 Martin realized he didn't have his passport with him. What a disaster!

He jumped back into the taxi and told the driver to take him home. The driver drove quickly and Martin arrived back at his house in twenty minutes.

He ran into the house and went into his bedroom. He found his passport on the bedside table and left the house again.

But the taxi wasn't there! Where was the taxi!

Martin jumped up and down angrily. "I don't believe it. The taxi left!" he shouted. He ran down the street and looked for another taxi.

After a few minutes, Martin found another taxi and told the driver to take him to the airport as quickly as possible.

The traffic on the roads was very bad and, unfortunately, Martin's taxi arrived at the airport late. His plane left for Spain at 11.30 and Martin missed it.

He was very sad and went to speak to the airline. They promised to get him a seat on an evening flight and Martin went home on another taxi to wait.

2.       Talking about your prefer places at the school, look the images and match the places with the images, then make short sentences.

2.       Where are located these places in your town? Try to use prepositions such as: in front of, behind, next to, in, far or near the town, over, dowm, under and between. Try to develop the exercise, selecting the best option you consider is the right.




 In a billboard organize what are the different food you consume daily in your breakfast, lunch and dinner.

1)      To make a foldable where you describe some of the 17 objectives proposed by  ONU (UN)   related to sustainability and propose some actions to generate better life conditions to  people and helping the planet.

 

2)      Write a short text where you talk about your expectations as a future professional.

 

3)      Try to  read and analyze the next reading comprehension, then answer the proposed questions

 

Do you have any idea who Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta is? It is quite a long name for a lady who is now known as Lady Gaga. She was born on March 28 1986 in the United States. She is a well-known American recording artist. She began performing as a rock star in New York City.

Her debut album “the fame” was released in the month of August in 2008. Immediately it received very positive reviews. It went to number one in four countries and topped the billboard Top Electronic Albums chart in USA. Its first two singles were JUST DANCE and POKER FACE.

The album earned six Grammy Award nominations and won two, one for best Electronic Dance and another for Best Dance Recording.

By the end of 2009 she released her second Studio Album “The Fame Monster”.
